The term spliceome was coined around 2000 to describe the set of all possible alternatively spliced mRNA and proteins in an organism and all the species depending on the context. It is an analogy to the genome, transcriptome, expressome, interactome or proteome. The concept and the list of alternative splices is useful in bioinformatics. It occupies a biolayer in  the omics world of biology.
