Bio-The prefix of Bio- has been extensively used by modern biogists to denote that certain topics are associated with genes, cells, genomes, and molecules. For example, bio attaching bio- to anthropology, one can indicate that the field he/she is involved in uses molecular level data and technologies as well as conventional social science knowledge. Therefore, bioanthropology can be distinguished from anthropology and deliver more precise discipline definition.
The attaching prefix trend or Bio-trend has helped many biologists and bioinformatists to sophisticate many biological sub fields.
Bio- prefix has been accompanied or paralleled by a similar suffix attaching trend of -omes and -omics.
